Paper tube making machine, also known as a paper core spiral winding machine or convolute winding machine, is an industrial device designed to transform flat rolls of paper (or other materials like film or fabric) into strong, cylindrical tubes or square shape paper cores. These tubes are widely used in industries for shipping, textiles (as fabric rolls), packaging (for films and foils), and construction.

Product Introduction

How a Paper Tube Making Machine Works ?

1. Unwinding (De-reeling)

The process begins with large rolls of paper, known as parent rolls, being loaded onto the machine's unwinding stands.

2. Slitting & Cutting

The wide paper web then enters a slitting machine, where rotating circular blades trim the edges and cut the paper into multiple, narrower strips of a specific width.

3. Spiral Winding (The Core Process)

This is the most critical stage. The glued paper strips are fed onto a rotating steel mandrel (a solid, cylindrical rod).

· Spiral Angle: The paper strips are fed at a precise angle relative to the mandrel.

· Layer Building: Multiple strips can be fed simultaneously, each starting at a different point. This allows the machine to build up the tube wall with several layers of paper in a single, continuous operation.

4. Heating & Curing

Immediately after winding, the tube passes through a heated section. This heat accelerates the drying and curing process of the adhesive, ensuring the layers bond together firmly and quickly to form a solid, rigid structure.

5. Cutting to Length

Once the bonded paper tube has reached the desired wall thickness and has been sufficiently cured, it moves to a cutting station. Here, a traveling saw or a high-speed rotary cutter cuts the continuous tube into pre-set lengths based on customer requirements.
